The program consists of 30 audio lessons, where I explain all the grammar of the level, in an easy and fun way. Everything you will learn will be useful and you can immediately use it in a conversation.
Of course, the grammar explained in the typical way that I use in my Smart Italian for busy people videos is only a guide, because the real goal of the course is to enable you to SPEAK and USE the language you learn. Audio lessons come with transcripts, tasks, word lists, and verb tables with lots of examples, but nothing you have to memorise, because you will learn it all while listening to the audio lessons.
In addition to this, there’s my Facebook community, where you can ask me questions and where you will be in contact with other people who are learning like you. This is ideal to keep you on track for the 30-day course! Don’t have Facebook? No problem, you don’t need it to complete the course. Facebook is just another channel you can use to improve your learning, but all the essentials are in my course. The Facebook community is a wonderful tool if you like interacting with people and receiving daily contributions to stay motivated, but if you prefer to learn without it, that’s totally fine!

What level will I reach in 30 days?
The course is designed for beginners who want to reach level A2 (the end of the pre-intermediate level) within 30 days.
At this level, you can start simple but useful conversations in Italian. You can talk about yourself, your life and interests, your family, your job or profession, your plans for the future (for example, for the weekend or night), what you did in the past (for example, the past weekend week, on your last vacation or just yesterday).
You can also make phone calls and write emails to friends in Italian.

What about grammar?
I teach you ALL the grammar of this level in an easy and entertaining way.
These are some of the topics that I explain at level A1-A2:
- Present tense to talk about yourself and your routine
- Past tense of regular and irregular verbs to talk about your past experience
- How to express the future tense in Italian to talk about your plans
- The most important prepositions and how to use them
- The most important linking words and how to use them
- Introduction to the conditional tense to say what you would like
- Asking questions: the most important question words and how to use them in order to ask anything you want
- Dates and times to talk about plans, appointments, yourself and past events
- The grammar you need to start making phone calls and writing emails (with useful examples)

- The grammar you need to talk about your interests and your work

How long do I need to study?
The entire course is designed for ‘busy people’, so you can complete the lessons in as little as 7-15 minutes a day. Of course, you can spend more or less time if you prefer. But you can definitely finish the course in 30 days. 
What if I cannot finish the course in 30 days?
We all go through busier-than-usual periods. If something happens and you can’t study for a couple of days or more, you have nothing to worry about, you can do it at your own pace. There’s no rush!

My method
Let me start by explaining why most people fail at learning a language. It’s probably not what you think!
You see, many people think that seven to fifteen minutes is too little time to see any progress.
But in reality, the reason most people stop learning a language is that they set their goals too high.
For instance:
‘I’m going to study for three hours a day from today onwards’.
Who has three hours a day? Or even two? Even I don’t spend that much time learning languages, and I’m a BIG language nerd!
In most cases, after one or two weeks (or even earlier), you notice that that amount of time isn’t sustainable and you stop.
The secret to making rapid progress in Italian…
In reality, what actually helps us move forward when learning languages is studying every day. Even if it’s just for seven to fifteen minutes. It’s the consistency that matters.
If you set a smaller, more manageable goal and keep at it, day after day you will see results. Take things one step at a time and you will learn so much.
The biggest ‘guarantee for success’ is:
If you are consistent in what you want to achieve for as little as 30 days, you will be amazed at your progress.
Even things that seem intimidating get easier if we divide the load up into small steps.

Now, you might think…Elisa, that DOES sound good, but what exactly should I focus on in those 7 to 15 minutes? How do I make my study periods as efficient and rewarding as possible?
To make rapid progress in Italian, two things come into play:
It’s the consistency that matters. If you study a bit every day you will get results. But how do you make sure that you actually study a bit every day? The ‘secret’ is to do something you find enjoyable.
At the same time, it’s very important that you focus on the right activities. In this way you will make progress, stay motivated, and you will definitely be able to achieve the results you’re after.
So here’s what that means in practical terms.
When you only have little time, you should think about what you want to be able to do with the language (such as being able to talk to people, reading, or understanding movies). You probably want to be able to do all of this, and you will get there in the end, but it’s always best to start with your top priority.
Do you want to learn Italian because you actually want to hold actual conversations?
This is what this course helps you with: developing your speaking skills because it focuses on the bits of the language that help you speak and enable you to express your thoughts, and talk about yourself and your life.
…of course you will also learn how to read and write because you have full transcripts of the lessons, but thanks to the audio lessons, you will train your listening and speaking skills. In the audio lessons, I will teach you useful bits of the language that you can immediately use in conversation with me as I will prompt you to interact with me and ask you questions about what I am teaching you.

Do I have to be an expert in grammar before I can start speaking Italian?
If you want to learn Italian in order to be able to speak to people, learning all the grammar first might put you off learning the language altogether. It’s important to focus on the relevant grammar – the bits that helps you speak. You will learn all the grammar you need to know, just not all at the same time. You will learn it, step by step, in a practical and easy way so that you can immediately use it in conversation.
This course teaches you grammar in a communicative way. For example, if I’m teaching you how to ask questions in Italian, you will see how easy it is, just by changing one word or two, to greatly amplify the number of questions you can ask with very little effort.
What about vocabulary?
Along with easily explained grammar, with this course you will only focus on useful words that EVERYONE needs (enough of word lists made up of words you can’t use!).
And both grammar and words are taught in meaningful contexts: in conversation! In this way you will also learn when it’s correct to use them.
