Encouraging, informative, and packed full of practical tips and techniques for language learning. This book is primarily targeted at those looking to learn more than one language at a time, but it also offers insights for those learning a single language as well. Elise does a fantastic job of dissuading the idea that in order to be successful you must be in a certain age group or have “natural talent”. These kinds of ideas are just not true. Anyone can learn a new language and as this books shows, even more than one if you choose. I highly recommend this book to anyone currently on a language learning journey or to those looking to get started and need a bit of encouragement and guidance.

You know you loved a book when the front cover is curled up and you highlighted something on every single page! The author humbly shows how her language learning techniques through self-experimenting plus hundreds of students who have had success by consistently studying two or more languages using her method. She makes it clear how you can “knock two birds with one stone.” I never thought of myself as a “multiple languages during the same period of time kind of learner”, but this book gave me the guidance and inner strength to learn Dutch & Afrikaans for my next up and coming fluency challenge. Thank you Elisa for paving the way and making me see through your experiences how I can do it too.

This is the best I have read about language learning in years. I have always had the idea that it is possible to learn multiple languages at the same time, but I did never have a guide that showed me how. This is the guide I wish I would have had 10 years ago. I have been testing the advice that Elisa shares for the last couple weeks and it is making a real difference in my language learning. Elisa's book gave me the confidence to restart 5 languages that I have been studying on and off and the persistance to dedicate a minimum of 30 minutes total of focused effort towards reaching my dream of being comfortably conversational in Mandarin, Russian, Arabic, French and Spanish. And I am having fun again. The information shared in the book helped me to get the right mindset and establish a process and routine that fits my life. I rarely share book recommendations with friends, but this one is a real game-changer if you are serious about achieving your language goals. The second part of the book is a practical guide to learning languages, with lots of hints and tips that experienced polyglots use to learn. Elisa explains how to get speaking immediately, how to plan your study time and which sort of materials work best for rapid language acquisition. In the book, Elisa shows you how to avoid wasting time learning things you don't need yet (do you really need to learn the name of every fruit?), and to zoom in on the most useful parts of the language first so you can start speaking from day one. Have you ever tried to learn a language, and given up in frustration? Or are you interested in language learning, but don't know where to start? This book is here to help, with clear practical advice and methods you can apply to reach fluency in any language. If I sound a little over-enthusiastic, I am. I've dabbled with language learning for years, never feeling confident enough to speak. After attending one of Elisa's workshops less than a year ago, and applying the methods outlined in this book, I can now speak confidently in French and German, and am able to have basic conversations in Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Slovenian, and I don't plan to stop there!
